The Synopsis
Built on Blood and Hustle
Hathian isn’t the kind of place you find on a map.
It’s the place you end up when the world forgets about you — or when you forget about yourself.
Born from the wreckage of Hurricane Katrina, Hathian has spent decades clawing its way back from the brink.
But the scars never faded. The broken levees may have been patched, but the soul of the city remains cracked, flooded with crime, desperation, and betrayal.
In the Crack Den, survival is the only law.
Gangs rule the streets, carving up turf with blood and bullets. Addiction eats away at the corners of every home. Businesses open their doors each morning not for customers, but for the bribes and shakedowns that come with the territory. Even the police — once sworn protectors — have long since traded their badges for payoffs, their justice for brutality.
This is a city where every dollar is fought for, every secret bought and sold, every bond tested by loyalty — or broken by survival.
But where there’s ruin, there’s opportunity.
Some rise from the wreckage: hustlers, survivors, kingpins. Some are just trying to hold onto what little they have. And others? They come to Hathian not to escape the past — but to build something new from the ashes.
In Hathian, every choice is a gamble. Every moment is a crossroads. And every story, no matter how small, shapes the city’s living, breathing lore.
Welcome to the Crack Den.
You don’t just survive here. You carve your name into the bones of the city.

Getting Started
The Crack Den is a living, breathing urban roleplay world built on survival, consequence, and character-driven stories. From gang wars and back-alley deals to beat cops and corner-store drama, every action has weight — and every player helps shape the city of Hathian.
Whether you’re here to climb the criminal ranks, uphold a fractured justice system, or just make ends meet, this guide will help you create immersive, fair, and unforgettable stories.
Respect the community. Own your story. Embrace the grit.
- Be Respectful: Behind every avatar is a human. Keep OOC interactions respectful and collaborative.
- No Powergaming/Metagaming: Don’t control others’ outcomes or use knowledge your character hasn’t earned IC.
- Guns Are Restricted: Only players with Armed status (tracked via the Story HUD) may use firearms.
- Vehicles Require Permits: Limited and paid weekly – see the gas station.
- Human Avatars Only: Small domestic animals allowed. No fantasy creatures or large animals.
Required Etiquette

- Use Third-Person: Write from your character’s perspective using “he,” “she,” or “they.”
- Emote with /me: Describe actions, expressions, and thoughts using
/me
. - Use ((OOC)) When Needed: Use double parentheses for Out-of-Character messages.
- Observe Before Entering: Read the room before joining active scenes. Don’t interrupt without a logical IC entry.
❌ Bad Example: Powergaming
/me spins out of the cop’s grip, grabs his gun, and shoots him in the leg, leaving him screaming on the pavement.
✅ Good Example: Fair Conflict
/me jerks his arm back, struggling against the officer’s grip. In a panic, he reaches toward the cop’s holster, fingers fumbling for the weapon.
❌ Bad Example: Multiple Emotes
/me lights a cigarette. /me leans on the wall. /me eyes the guy walking past and spits.
✅ Good Example: Combined Emote
/me lights a cigarette and leans against the crumbling wall, eyeing the man walking past. With a smirk, he spits to the side.
❌ Bad Example: First-Person Writing
/me walk down the street and pull my hoodie up. I don’t trust the people in this part of town.
✅ Good Example: Third-Person Writing
/me walks down the street, tugging his hoodie up over his head. His eyes shift, alert — this part of town didn’t forgive mistakes.
